Instruction to students both during and/or after school hours. The class is designed to enhance musical, performing arts, and physical education. Classes are taught by professional dance instructors endorsed by Santa Rita Ballroom, a subsidiary of  Danz Revolutionz, LLC and Shall We Dance, a locally owned independent studio.

Performance opportunities in professional theatrical productions and/or other such showcase venues, along side professional and amateur dancers in the community. Proceeds from showcases produced by Danz Revolutionz will go towards The Danz Ed Project.

Competitive opportunities for students interested in advancing their dance skills. All students in the Danz Ed Project are invited to join the Jr. Danz Company outside of the school, which prepares the students to compete and perform at more advance levels through additional performance opportunities and competitions.

Our Mission:

  • Giving the students an opportunity to appreciate dance.
  • Developing cultural literacy and understanding of dance in the community.
  • Assisting students in developing critical-thinking skills.
  • Enhancing students' self-esteem and motivation in school.
  • Empowering students with the ability to improve their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
  • Aiding in developing respectful social skills with peers and adults.
  • Developing technical and artistic skills as a dancer.

Through the study of dance, the project focuses on developing and enriching concepts such as...

Artistic Perception - Students demonstrate movement skills, process sensory information, and describe movement using dance vocabulary.

Creative Expression - Students apply choreographic principles, processes, and skill to create meaning through the improvisation, composition, and performance of dance.

Historical & Cultural Context - Students analyze the function and development of dance in past and present cultures throughout the world, noting human diversity.

Aesthetic Valuing - Students critically assess and derive meaning from works of dance, performance of dances, and original works based on the elements of dance.

Connections, Relationships, & Applications - Students apply what they learn in dance to learning across subject areas. They develop competencies in communication & creative problem-solving skills that contribute to lifelong learning and career skills. They also learn about careers related to dance.

The Danz Ed Project was developed to meet the needs of learning institutions that want to provide a comprehensive educational experience for their students. The project provides an opportunity for students to work with local dance professionals who will assist students in developing crucial critical thinking skills, enhancing self-esteem and motivation, as well as developing respectful social skills with peers and adults.

Dance education should be a part of the curriculum in schools for several reasons. Dance is a fundamental and universal human activity. It provides students with a new understanding of self, culture, history, kinesthetic communication, and expression in the present day world. Although dance us usually developed as an art program, it is recognized by many institutions as a means of improving physical, mental, and emotional intelligence.
